Foundation
Encourage philanthropic endeavors that will support the growth of family medicine in Illinois. Empower stronger patient/physician partnerships in the state. Support educational and research initiatives that further the development of family medicine.
In 1987, the IAFP founded the IAFP Foundation, now the Family Health Foundation of Illinois. The IAFP and its Foundation are two separate organizations that enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship. The Foundation aims to support the philanthropic needs of family physicians in Illinois while providing programs and assistance to family medicine residents and medical students, encouraging more Illinois students to train and practice in the state.
A key part of the Foundation's mission is to promote philanthropy among family physicians, the corporate community, and the general public. The Foundation supports The Summer Externship Experience, The Scholarly Works Virtual Summit, Family Medicine Midwest student travel funding, and activities for students and residents throughout the year.
The Family Health Foundation of Illinois, Inc. is the only charitable organization in Illinois dedicated to improving access to quality health care by investing in family medicine. For more information on Foundation Partnership, contact Desma Rozovics.

Support for Future Leaders at
the AAFP FUTURE Conference
IAFP members enjoyed a gorgeous, sunny Sunday afternoon at the ballpark where the Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 2-1 in a game that was much more exciting than the score would lead you to believe. Thanks to Healthcare Associates Credit Union, each attendee went home with a great stadium-approved clear shoulder bag with sunscreen inside. Best of all, $10 of each ticket is a donation to the IAFP's Family Health Foundation of Illinois. Combined with a Virtual Pledge from Shibani Munshi, MD the event raised $400 for the foundation.

Thanks to IAFP members Dr. John Sage, Dr. Sandra McGowan Watts, and Dr. Lisa Richardson for bringing their families to the game. The Sky were down early, rallied in the second half, and ultimately lost 94-84. The Foundation still scored well with the Virtual Pledges by Dr. Ronald Rembert and Dr. Shibani Munshi, whose pledges were boosted by the Sky's 84 points.
