Group Study Workshop Information

In our group study workshop, we will review questions together, and no prior preparation is necessary. Copies of the questions provided by the ABFM will be sent along with your Zoom login details. Our goal is to cover all 30 questions each workshop day, with an expert speaker leading the discussion and offering background information. After displaying each question, participants will respond via a poll, and the group will collaboratively determine the best answer. All answers will be submitted as a group, and participants will receive credit for completing the knowledge self-assessment. The KSA will earn 10 certification points and 8 live CME credits toward ABFM certification requirements.

ABFM Information

A completed KSA earns 10 certification points and 8 CME credits toward ABFM certification requirements.

The certification point system requires diplomates to earn 50 MC-FP points at each stage, including completing at least one Part II activity, now called a KSA instead of a SAM. KSA activities are valued at 10 points each, while clinical self-assessments (CSAs) count for 5 points. With the clinical simulation component separated from the knowledge self-assessment, live group study KSA participants can choose to complete the CSA later.

If you have any questions about how many Family Medicine Certification activities you need to complete or when to finish them, the ABFM can help you (877-223-7437).

The ABFM will charge a fee to take their test; the amount varies depending on your re-election cycle. This fee is in addition to the cost to participate in our program. You do not need to pay for the KSA activity in advance to earn credit for participation in the program. After completing the KSA, if you owe your Family Medicine Certification process fee for the year, you will be prompted to pay this within your ABFM Physician Portfolio to receive credit for this activity.
