Journal Club
Join family physicians, residents, and medical students from across Illinois for a quarterly virtual journal club dedicated to translating evidence into better patient care.

Evidence to Action is offered at no cost to IAFP members and is supported by a grant from the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation's Family Medicine Cares USA (FMCA) Program.
Evidence to Action is a quarterly virtual journal club designed to bring high-quality evidence into real-world family medicine practice. Participants review selected articles from the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) National Journal Club and join colleagues for an engaging, faculty-facilitated discussion focused on clinical application, study design, and practice improvement.
Benefits of Participation:
Step 1: Register
Register for the session(s) you would like to attend.
Step 2: Receive Article Information
Registered participants will receive the titles of the selected ABFM National Journal Club articles along with instructions for accessing them.
Step 3: Read the Articles
Participants should review both articles prior to the session to prepare for discussion.
Step 4: Join the Discussion
During the one-hour Zoom session, participants will engage in an interactive discussion led by faculty facilitators. Rather than a lecture, the session is designed as a collaborative conversation where attendees discuss clinical questions, evaluate the evidence, explore practice implications, and work through the ABFM National Journal Club questions together.
Step 5: Complete the Assessments
Following the session, participants complete the ABFM National Journal Club assessments independently within their MyABFM Portfolio to receive credit.
Credit Opportunities:
Credit is awarded through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) upon successful completion of the National Journal Club assessments in your MyABFM Portfolio.
