The IAFP committees and task forces allow members to participate in the Academy from anywhere and at any stage. Our Member Interest Groups (MIGs) connect members on common interests to enhance their knowledge, find solutions, and collaborate to make changes that benefit colleagues and patients. The IAFP is a place where family medicine physicians can look toward the future for themselves and their profession; to share about their past experiences, current situations, and hopes for both personal and professional goals.

ADVOCACY

  • The IAFP provides the opportunity to stay informed and enlightened on legislative and government relations issues that can and will impact the primary care landscape here in Illinois. We offer tools and connections for those empowered to advocate and engage with their elected officials.
  • Every two years, our Spring Into Action unites members across the entire career spectrum—students, residents, and active physicians—and from all over the state for a shared advocacy week. Each member could represent both the IAFP and them when speaking with lawmakers about the issues most important to their communities.

EDUCATION

  • Our education offers high-quality CME developed by family physicians for family physicians, focusing on timely topics with relevant clinical and practice management education. Members can access free CME online and live through webinars. The activities provided by IAFP directly address the needs of primary care physicians in a genuine effort to improve the quality of care they deliver to patients.
  • The IAFP offers members opportunities to earn CME credits and present at our conferences.
  • We are here to assist you with recertification and re-election tasks.
