Prepare pregnancy care providers to effectively manage potential obstetric emergencies.

Participants in an ALSO Course learn practical, standardized, team-based approaches to managing emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, breech delivery, cord prolapse, and maternal resuscitation. Although labor and delivery room emergency care is the program's main focus, the ALSO curriculum also addresses preventive care and practice concerns, such as medical complications of pregnancy, preterm labor, labor dystocia, trauma, and support for parents coping with a birth crisis.

Registration includes all course materials. A continental breakfast and lunch are included. Online access to an AAFP CME activity is a non-transferable, non-refundable purchase. Learners unable to attend the scheduled Live portion of the course may search for a future Live course here. After registering for the new course, they will receive an Online Course URL from the sponsor and use it to access the course. Online Course progress and completion will carry over from the last course in their AAFP Accounts. The Learner will also be subject to an additional Learner access fee of $150.00.

Upon successful registration and payment, all learners will receive access to the online modules to complete in advance of the course. CME Accreditation: The AAFP has reviewed ALSO Course and deemed it acceptable for up to 9.00 AAFP Prescribed credit. Term of Approval is from 10/29/2026 to 10/29/2026. If you miss the October live course, you must complete another live ALSO Edition 10 course by November 13, 2026. After this date, Edition 10 courses will no longer be available, and you will need to enroll in the new Edition 11 course.
