The ALSO Instructor Course is designed to teach individuals with a current ALSO status the skills and knowledge needed to facilitate lectures and workstations at an ALSO course effectively. Successful completion of this course, as well as evaluation and recommendation by an advisory faculty member, is required to become an ALSO-approved instructor.
Upon completing the Instructor Course, learners are ALSO considered instructor candidates. To become an ALSO-approved instructor, you must teach in an ALSO or BLSO course within one year of your ALSO live Instructor Course date and have a current advisory faculty member observe your teaching skills. You have the opportunity to teach at the IAFP-sponsored ALSO Learner Course on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the NIU Naperville Conference Center. Please indicate on this registration if you would like to volunteer as an instructor for the course under the supervision of an ALSO advisory faculty member.
NOTE: This event is limited to 18 instructor candidates.
Registration includes all course materials. You will receive an email from the IAFP with the Online Course URL; use it to access the course. Upon successful registration and payment, all learners will receive access to the online modules to complete in advance of the course. Names and unique email addresses are required for each registrant, and payment is by credit card at checkout. If you need to make alternative arrangements to pay in advance, contact iafp@iafp.com.
CME Accreditation: The AAFP has reviewed ALSO Instructor Course and deemed it acceptable for up to 3.25 AAFP Prescribed credit. Term of Approval is from 10/28/2026 to 10/28/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Please note: Online access to an AAFP CME activity is a non-transferable, non-refundable purchase. Learners unable to attend the scheduled Oct 28 Live portion of the course may search for a future Live course here.
Important ALSO Course Update: If you are registered for our October live ALSO course, attendance is critical. If you miss the October live course, you must complete another live ALSO Edition 10 course by November 13, 2026. After this date, Edition 10 courses will no longer be available, and you will need to enroll in the new Edition 11 course.
