The IAFP Member Interest Group (MIG) for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to serve as a dedicated space for IMG members to connect, support professional integration and career advancement, and strengthen involvement within the Academy. The primary purpose of the group would be to provide a direct connection between IMG members to exchange information, share experiences, and foster leadership skills. Additionally, the group would help strengthen the Academy by broadening perspectives, fostering inclusion, and enhancing patient care.
This MIG directly advances IAFP’s strategic themes to Grow and Sustain the Family Medicine Workforce, Foster Belonging and Connection across the FM Community.
The member interest group for International Medical Graduates is consistent with the IAFP policy on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: “Throughout its Strategic Plan, the IAFP will support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all forms, recognizing that these require an enduring commitment that must be fully expressed in our organizational culture, values, activities, and behaviors.”
