To serve as a conduit for educator issues related to faculty development, student interest, and resident activities. Promote Family Medicine Midwest and IAFP opportunities within the Illinois medical education community. Employed faculty and community-based preceptors are encouraged to participate. Activities include:
- Coordinating the Academy's annual Resident Scholarly Works Virtual Summit webinar by recruiting resident presenters and volunteering as a reviewer (usually in late May or early June).
- Promoting Family Medicine Midwest and encouraging colleagues to submit abstracts and attend the conference.
- Promoting student and resident participation in IAFP events and leadership roles with IAFP and AAFP.
- Selecting the IAFP Resident Teacher of the Year from nominations submitted by Illinois programs.

Meetings are via teleconference, typically quarterly, and will meet in person at the IAFP Annual Meeting.
