Board of Directors
Welcome to the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians Board Portal! This secure platform has been designed to streamline board operations, enhance collaboration, and provide you with seamless access to the critical information you need to fulfill your governance responsibilities.
Your Central Hub for Board Activities: This portal functions as your all-in-one resource for board-related materials and communications. Here you will access meeting agendas, board updates, financial reports, committee documents, bylaws, and the strategic plan.
Getting Started: Use the menu to access board meetings, documents, committees, and other resources. If you need help at any time, Gordy, Jen, and Randie are available.
Thank you for your service and leadership. We are dedicated to supporting your vital work with technology that simplifies, rather than complicates, the governance process.
Contact the Board via president@iafp.com or iafp@iafp.com.
Our Mission:
To be the voice of Family Physicians by promoting the value of the specialty of family medicine and improving health for all through advocacy, education, and action.
Statement of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
Throughout its Strategic Plan, the IAFP will support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all forms, recognizing that these require an enduring commitment that must find full expression in our organizational culture, values, activities, and behaviors.
Membership:
The IAFP has approximately 4,700 members, including 2,700 active physicians, 800 resident physicians, 800 medical students, and nearly 400 Life members.
Board Attendance Policy:
Any Director who absents himself or herself from two (2) consecutive meetings of the Board of Directors, without a reasonable excuse acceptable to the Board, shall be considered as having resigned from the Board. (IAFP Bylaws, Chapter 8, Section 2)
Code of Conduct for Guests at Board Meeting:
The Board Chair will recognize and introduce guests. Guests should understand: 1) They don’t have the floor or the right vote. 2) They are expected to respect the same protocols as the board: Discussions and documents are treated in confidence. 3) The board may need to go into executive session with only board members present.
Succession Planning:
is an ongoing process of systematically identifying, assessing, and developing talent to ensure leadership continuity for all key positions in IAFP or those interested in pursuing AAFP positions. Share your inquiries/interest with Gordy & Jen, and they will inform the Leadership Development Committee.
