Live Presentations

Presenting residents will login to the virtual summit (held via Zoom) and present live to a panel of anonymous reviewers as well as any resident or faculty that may login and observe. If you miss your scheduled start time, there will not be another opportunity to present.
Residents must be at your computer with the presentation slides open and ready on your desktop. If you are using your computer microphone, please use a headset (to keep out surrounding background noise)  and be ready to Share Your Screen.
Moderator introduces the researcher and notifies the resident to start the presentation. Resident presenters advance their own slides from their computers.

We will offer an open practice time on the day before the webinar (Tuesday, May 20), for presenters who wish to test out their connection to the platform from their computer in advance and practice screen sharing.
Residents have up to 15 minutes to deliver the entire presentation. Presenters are limited to a maximum of 25 slides. There is a 2-minute warning to help presenters in ending on time. After the presentation, a 3-minute question and answer session follow with questions from two anonymous faculty reviewers.

Presenters in the 15-minute presentations are scored on

  1. the quality of their research design Note for educational project design-clear learner objectives, sound data for general and/or targeted needs assessments, curriculum design description, documented or planned evaluation strategies.
  2. the quality of their slides
  3. the relevance to family medicine,
  4. their verbal presentation and
