The Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (ICAAP), in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Public Health and the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, is offering free Lead Poisoning Prevention education. This educational opportunity, led by an expert in lead poisoning prevention, covers the basics of lead exposure, screening, and treatment requirements, as well as resources for providers and families. The webinar also features a brief presentation by a CDPH public health nurse on the case management process following the reporting of an elevated blood lead level. CME credit is available.
Learning Objectives:
1. Review the lead and sources of exposure.
2. Identify the effects of lead poisoning on children's health and development.
3. Discuss lead screening and testing requirements.
4. Discuss prevention and management of lead poisoning.
