In September 2024, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved FluMist for at-home administration. This is the first flu vaccine approved for self- or caregiver-administration. FluMist is expected to be available to people ages 2-49 years of age this fall via a home ordering program. ICAAP will host an informational session for pediatricians to learn more about this program. Register for this May 6th event through this link.
The session is designed to allow participants to learn more about the studies that were a part of the approval process, understand how at-home ordering and reporting will be conducted, and answer questions you may have about how this will impact the delivery of flu vaccines for the upcoming season. ICAAP is not receiving money for this event and does not endorse products. ICAAP supports AAP’s recommendation that everyone 6 months and older, without contraindications, receive the flu vaccine that is appropriate for their age.
