Having served the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians in various capacities over the last number of years, I hope to bring institutional knowledge to bear on the decision-making of the Congress of Delegates. This expertise is amplified by my involvement as Chair of the AAFP Delegation to the American Medical Association as well as involvement on AAFP Commissions (Membership as well as Quality and Practice). Attending the Congress and representing the interests of family physicians in Illinois is exciting. It is our pathway to deliver important policy to a larger body with resources to ensure our voices are heard and our patients are better served. Having served on COD reference committees (including chairing one last year) I have a deep understanding of the process by which our Congress makes decisions and can leverage that to better serve our state Academy in this broader context. I am optimistic that continued service in this capacity will be of benefit to IAFP and seek nomination for a term as Delegate.
