Dr. Beard for Board Member 2028

I am writing to express my interest in the Class of 2028 as a board member. It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve on the board as a Resident Co-President in 2021-2022, as well as New Physician from 2023-2025. These roles have been deeply meaningful to me- allowing me the opportunity for impactful leadership, and fostering friendships at the state and national level. 

The IAFP has empowered me to make a tangible impact at both the state and national level. This issue, which Dr. Eric Sullivan and I co-authored as a resolution at the National Conference of Constituency Leaders, was selected as one of the top three FMAS advocacy topics—a moment that underscored the power of organized family medicine. Without the IAFP, I would never have had this opportunity to sit down and discuss these important topics with key decision makers. 

This week, Dr. Sullivan and I will co-host an event in the city to bring joy to overworked new physicians and try to bolster our community. This event was one that I pitched during the Task Force on New Physicians and was met with strong support. Efforts like these reflect my ongoing commitment to energizing our membership, innovating in how we engage, and advocating for what I value most: health equity.
